Morning Comrades and welcome back to the second patreon-only dispatch of this week.
A little different for the end of the week, sort of anyway. One of the common but deeply unserious1 comments often aimed at people who engage in critical thought and action is that we are all unhappy, grey misers, angrily shaking our fists at the sky and making everything, well, not fun.
Granted, how could one not shake their fists angrily at everything, considering the state the capitalists have gotten us into, and change, revolution even, is a serious undertaking but it still made me think on this subject. I am not interested in the comments projection of their own boring life but rather wanted to explore and utterly diffuse the perception that people such as as are not funny-having individuals. On the contrary, it is quite the opposite. The point of Marxist Critical Thought and its subsequent logical praxis is exactly that: Fun! Hedonism! The liberation from the utter nonsense we call live let alone living aims at exactly that.
With that, we are going to touch on a little theory, predominately by ways of Gramsci and Marcuse and then tap into Bastani’s most excellent book “Fully Automated Luxury Communism” as a potential means of praxis, because fuck ‘em and their genuinely abstemiousness existence under capitalism.
