Obviously I want to give you a little more than “just” a new drop for the weekend so here it goes. I watched the debate a little before tuning out and it would be utterly hilarious seeing two old, corrupt, racist white men yelling at each other about who cares more for “the people” if the implications of their bullshit did not have a serious global impact. By now you would have heard enough analysis about that spectacle without meaning that you will not need mine, as it is, I have paid more attention to it than I should.
A wonderful, deep and exceptionally well-curated art show opened here in Hamburg Thursday night by an artist that I would like to draw your attention to. The show, called “Why Should I Hesitate: Putting Drawings To Work” shows the entire depth of William Kentridge’s 40 year body of work. The depth and variety of his hugely political work is astounding, drawings, illustrations, installation, tapestries, screen prints and films are all on display so if you do happen to read this and live here, go! If not, I highly recommend spending some time online with his work. Click the picture to get a good introduction to it and take it from there.
