Weak and Powerless

From Liberalism to Anti-Communism

Morning Comrades.

Liberalism is the brain-rot of our age. It is the ideology of those who congratulate themselves on their morality while bathing in the blood spilled by their governments. It is the smug delusion of the brunch-goer, the NGO donor, the fact-checker, the protest sign–waver who thinks outrage is enough. Liberalism in the United States, in Europe, in the whole West, is not an antidote to fascism, it is its camouflage. It insists that the structures of domination, capital, empire, militarism can be managed humanely, as if these systems could ever be anything other than violent. Liberals call themselves defenders of democracy while cheering coups abroad. They call themselves champions of rights while building police states at home. They denounce fascism in speeches but maintain the economic and political order that produces it.

And nowhere is this clearer than in the refusal of liberals to see their own fascism. They point to Trump as if he were a rupture, a monster from nowhere, an alien invasion of American democracy. They scream “this is not us!” while standing atop centuries of genocide, slavery, colonialism, and war. They pretend that the cage children sit in on the U.S.-Mexico border is new, as if Obama didn’t build the cages. They pretend that militarised police only appeared when Trump praised them, as if Clinton and Biden didn’t fill prisons with Black bodies. They pretend that Western liberal democracy is some fragile paradise interrupted by fascism, rather than a system designed to oscillate between the velvet glove of neoliberalism and the iron fist of authoritarianism depending on what capitalism requires.

And thus: Western anti-communism has infantilised entire societies, reducing them to consumers who would rather shop than fight, who would rather debate than revolt, who would rather drown in proof than rise in struggle. Proof thereof we have aplenty and it alone will not save us. Proof is abundant, overflowing, undeniable, yet proof alone does nothing but build a mausoleum where liberal outrage goes to die, candles burning while fascism marches outside.
