Morning Comrades.
Over the weekend the US government and their propaganda machinery went into a rabies like frenzy when they proclaimed that they had spotted a Chinese spy balloon over US territory and subsequently shot it down.

Red Balloons & The Red Scare
I don’t see the need to call the usual hypocrisy around all of this in great detail but to be sure a few words need to be said about it before we get to the main point: the constant need for the US Capitalist Empire to create “boogeymen” to warrant their blood thirsty, immoral quest for (economic) world domination through war.
The manufactured outrage from the US government is and was to be expected, hypocritical to the max as per usual when it sees a chance to ramp up public moral to support its wildest and wettest dream: to subjugate China to their controlled, unbridled idea of capitalism. Admittedly, and despite expecting the best from their moronic entertainment & propaganda departments, even I was a little surprised at the intensity and insanity over the weekend. Considering the facts that the US has made it very public in the last decade that their final end boss, in our lifetime in any case, is Communist China and has since done all it can to endanger and threaten the life’s of over a billion people, simply out of greed, it should be clear to everyone that for whatever deluded reasons, the powers that be seem to think that not only is a conflict with China is winnable but that they can once again, employ their propaganda to get enough support from all of us. Laughable at best, if it wasn’t so damn dangerous.
In any case, nations spy. All of them, given their capabilities. I cannot speak on China because one, I don’t know enough and more importantly, the US and its vassals here in Europe are a much more immediate and tangible threat to me and you. I truthfully couldn’t care less if all the big whig nation states spy on each other but obviously even that fact has implications for all of us, both in regards to (digital) privacy and the very real fact that the CIA and their partner orgs here in Europe disappear people not aligned with their narrative and plans off the streets, regularly.
The spectacle of the weekend, however, isn’t all that important in the grand scheme of things, the playbook employed though, is. Irrespective of what we know as facts, that the US government and its capitalist masters have a very clear wish to “own” the worlds resources, that includes us also, have positioned and created a war machinery so vast ( yet no as successful as Hollywood makes it out to be ) to threaten any nation state around the world. Historically speaking, the US and its NATO partners are objectively the “baddies”, demolishing & killing everyone that doesn’t bow to their economic demands - that goes for individuals and nation states. This isn’t news to anyone. The game play however is what needs to openly stated and it is best, or most popularly expressed in Orwell’s 1984:
“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears.
It was their final, most essential command.”
Latest or since Trump came out swinging, we have been hearing the description “post-factual world” and in true nature of the process that has been the game play in regards to capitalist propaganda since the end of the Cold War. Granted, it can and should be argued that has always been the case but for the sake of our experience, it has been perfected since the late 1980s. We know, because of all the objective evidence at hand, what the Western Capital Class wants: total control of resources /production /consumption for profit by any means necessary. Yet, all we are told, through the “news”, entertainment, narrative control on social media and so on is the opposite. That “we” stand for freedom, morality, benign corporation, human rights and all that other jazz that we certainly would like, but never will get from them. Post-Truthism is not something that came out of the Trump camp by any means but has always been at the core of the Western Imperialist Propaganda playbook.
So China flys a spy ballon over to the US - in actuality at this point it has been confirmed that said ballon was “stationed” over Alaska & Canada and weather blew it across the US - spotted over No Mans Land and then the DOD decided to wait to announce their “discovery” until it was floating over more populated areas. Considering the 100s of spy satellites ( officially the US has 123 military grade spy satellites currently in Orbit and China marginally less ) in orbit, both nations capabilities in digital surveillance and so this whole “event” just reeks of a bad spin to me but again, that is besides the point. The point is, that we know that the US government just in regards of surveillance is one of the most notorious criminals on this planet but every ounce of the weighty US propaganda machinery cried wolf and created a narrative that made them sound like the holiest of saints being victimized by the evil communist empire.
While it sounds a little obvious to point out, it is important to keep in this mind, especially when you are talking with your friends and colleagues in real life. Being able to explain the machinery of manipulation is a very helpful tool in real life education and organizing. We cannot believe anything the Capitalists say, through either or both our politicians and our media because their interests are directly in opposition to our interests. It is important to know and understand that the Capital Class has always and will continue to create “scares” where there are none, through scapegoating, minority bashing and flat out racism - to whip up a faux support from the working classes who, as history has objectively proven, exist only as cannon fodder for their profits. We know this. We have to reject their lies, understand that we have ultimately more in common with a worker in China than a boss on Wall Street and free ourselves from this recurring cycle of top down violence. Know Your Enemy.
Thank you for your attention, time and support,
Yours,
V.
