Morning Comrades.
All too often myself and I would imagine yourself too struggle with the actuality of what to do and how to do “it” - and by “it” I am most definitely talking aligning ones resources in the revolutionary struggle to overcome to drudgery of capitalism.
A wonderful example in current history comes from the MIR in Chile during the time of Allende, himself one of the greatest socialist leaders of our current times, whose work was ultimately such a threat to the unipolarity of US hegemony that they offed him and replaced his idea with one of South America’s worst dictators, Pinochet. The interesting, not so well-known part of how Allende became the leader of Chile is the hugely valuable contribution of MIR, the Revolutionary Left Movement, a self-organized vanguard organization that laid the groundwork for Allende’s success and popularity. Since their founding anniversary in 1965 was just a few days ago I wanted to offer an introduction to them to once again cement the fact that a vanguard organizations that does the groundwork by any means necessary is always and ultimately the key to transforming the world post-capitalism.

After Salvador Allende became the first self-proclaimed Marxist to seize power through parliamentary means, the MIR, as a revolutionary organization, remained critical of the state, but maintained good relations with Allende and provided his armed personal bodyguards, who were trained in Cuba to use firearms. The self-proclaimed Marxist Leninist Organization was founded with only 500 members but quickly gained support from the poor and peasants. The MIR also trained its cadres in clandestine work, because they expected a counterrevolution and the assassination of Allende.
