Here it is comrades, the last drop this year from Black Lodges. I am extremely happy to offer this collaboration with my friend Kim The Butcher and this new, original anti-fascist piece. In addition I am offering two new screen prints whose profits will go directly to my local homeless shelter where I will be spending some time as of next week. Both prints are A4 in size, signed, numbered and printed by my friend Sehfeuer.
Not wanting to let you go into your well-deserved weekend without a dose of the usual fuckening, here are some hot takes from the last few days. Let’s start with the greatest criminal fuck-up that is Brexit. In a few weeks time the UK will leave the EU without any trade, social or political agreement as to how these hugely interdependent countries will continue to function come January 1st. To put it mildly, Brexit is going to cause an incredible amount of chaos, havoc, insecurity for the majority of the working classes in the UK. Our 1% and politicians have nothing to worry about, as per usual, but you and me - I genuinely fear the worst. With that essentially happening in 3 weeks, and to put the below into context - Boris and his merry band of twats - have been yelling about how leaving the UK will benefit the fishing industry in the UK, a barely existent industry and they yet still have to explain how leaving the UK will benefit that small, dying industry - but, thanks to Covid-19 and the now Brexit, the retail sector of the British economy, and it is massive, has taken a huge pummeling. Partly due to the ineffectiveness and unwillingness of Westminster to actually support an industry that provides jobs and taxes and partly due to the fact that a lot of the British retailers are owned and run by the lowest form of tax-evading, capitalist locust.
Speaking of priorities, the criminals in Westminster wouldn’t get their shit together to pass legislation to help the needy, I am sure that sounds awfully familiar, but are blowing wads of tax payers cash on new missiles that we don’t need, a Brexit Festival during a pandemic and putting up a new statue of the Wicked Witch Thatcher herself. The only funny thing about this bloody statue is that there are plenty of online groups getting ready to egg the shit out of it already.
In a stark contradiction of the above, this little piece of history is so incredibly worth not only remembering but bringing into the 21st Century. It is vitally important to take left-theory out of their academic ivory towers and organize, open, publicly available spaces that offer our rich history in all areas of life, outside a capitalistic framework.
Heading into a more general direction without losing sight of what the new batch of criminals heading into the White House are up, a few notes that I enjoyed first:
Considering that I actually have a bit of free time heading my way this weekend there is a pretty solid chance we will hear from one another on Sunday. Until then Friends.
I am inspired by you daily, my dude. I’d love to pick your brain sometime. I wanna do shit. But where to begin?
