In recent years, green capitalism has gained popularity as a proposed solution to the pressing environmental challenges we face. Advocates argue that by integrating market mechanisms and profit incentives into environmental policies, we can achieve sustainable development without disrupting economic growth. However, the concept of green capitalism is deeply flawed, if not a full on fuck you to everyone other than those that profit from it. That’s not you or me in case that wasn’t absolutely clear. We have often spoken about the various schemes our suit wearing profit vultures have tried to impress on us, however, the idea of Green Capitalism, specifically Carbon Offset Credits etc may well be the most destructive and horrendous one of them all. In light of the recent smog that hit the North American Eastern Seaboard, due to wildfires in neighbouring Canada and the absolutely bewildering responses to it, we will dig a little into this shady-ass world as well as offer a critique and solutions to it below, with the help of people that are smarter than I am - a special nod has to go to Emily Atkin who writes on here. -Angela Davis
