Power, Corruption and Lies
I sincerely hope everyone got a good amount of rest these last few days as this is going to be a silly stressful week. Admittedly, I barely slept this weekend but let’s pretend we are all rested, calm and careful to see us through this one. Two more in-depth topics today, first, the obvious elephant in the room and then lastly, we look at England and a bigger play in the book of global destabilization.
However, let’s start with this weeks playlist, it is Monday after all. Much like my own mental state this is another 3 hour mix covering everything, love, rage, hurt, hope and all the grey nuances in between. The first four songs, and for once I suggest you actually listen to those first rather than hitting random as you usually should, tell a good story about where this one heads, post-punk, late 80s goth/industrial/electro, political reggae then rap. The playlist also dives into some classic sludge/grunge, rap, some darker jazz, soul, psychedelic space jam pop and so on. I hope this one can carry you through this week. I tried.
The elephant in the room is the US election. I know a lot of people are eager to have this death circus over by Tuesday but that is not happening. I am going to stick my neck out here and say this: come Tuesday evening the results will be a close call and Trump is going to claim victory. He has said as much and he usually does what he touts on twitter and co. Now, it is important to understand that the entirety of mainstream US ( and to a certain degree the fringe also ) media aren’t “news” in the sense that they would like you to think of them, they are commercial entities that exist to make profit and nothing sells better than strive and panic, look at Facebook’s “value”. Now, irrespective of the fact that votes will have to be counted for weeks following election night if the initial projections and that’s mostly what they are, show a close call the RNC and the Trump campaign will go into hyper mode calling the election, pushing this through their channels meanwhile working the courts and mobilizing their thugs. I highly doubt there will be a concession speech that night and if there isn’t, it’s going to be a tough few weeks. We have seen the early stages of this destabilizing process with Bush and Gore back in 2000 when that election was stolen. As so many of us, especially you on the ground over there are so heavily invested in this I would like to say this: take a deep fucking breath on Tuesday and stay calm. I hope I am wrong about any and all of this, my gut tells me differently. So for that hot minute on Tuesday night look after yourself because this fight is far from over. Again, I hope that I am wrong on this.
The other story is more of two-folded one but it deals with the same subject, or political arena rather, the corruption, lies and manipulation taking place in the UK, especially, England lately. Granted, Westminster has always been a cesspool of corruption and manipulation but the sheer public audacity and blatantness of it all is giving me stomach ulcers.
Late last night, news broke that none other than Nigel Farage, our very own Alex Jones has re-branded his Brexit / UKIP gang into an anti-lockdown party.
There are two aspects to this I find extremely noteworthy. Firstly, we have seen anti-lockdown movements spring up across Europe since the summer, At first they seemed uncoordinated and a merry bunch of lunatics ranging from esoterics to neo-nazis but it quickly has become more than obvious that there is a larger, more coordinated play at hand here. These “movements” at a deeper level aim at nothing but a further destabilization of our already deeply corrupt democracies. Secondly, they aim at presenting an unified front on the far right of all political spectrums and thus moving our already right wing perceived centrists governments even further to the right. The first aspect begs the questions of who is financing these across Europe and the global Northwest and who is to gain from a destabilized west. You are all smart enough to answer the last part of that question. The second thought is more of an analysis in strategy - one that has been playing out especially in Europe for the last decade or so: present a seemingly unified front on the far right to push mainstream, centrist politics increasingly to the right which stands in direct opposition to majority politics across Europe thus sowing discontent between the populace and our governments. It’s quite clever really and ties in directly with the above questions of who finances this and who stands to gain. To explain a bit further, Europe and the UK specifically has been run predominately by right of centre conservative parties for the last decade who don’t necessarily represent the inert wishes of political realities within Europe. These parties know that their corruption to favour their bread givers don’t genuinely align with the needs and wishes of us voters and thus have entered deals to manipulate large parts of the public ( brexit & immigration, cambridge analytica as examples ) to sway attention away from their manipulation, greed and frankly incompetence. At their core, despite their swagger, they are massively aware of their unpopularity and ineptitude. If then, an outside agitator opens up a well-financed front to their right their only option is to move right in the poor attempt to swallow their xenophobia and lunacy- the biggest worry these centrist/right parties have is losing power. Now this play has been clear as pie in the UK, but also in Germany, France, The Netherlands, Spain and Italy - essentially across most of Europe. Make no mistake the Tea Party in the US last decade was just a trial run. I find this incredibly important to keep in mind when you are reading/ watching what is happening in our countries. These far-right “parties” aren’t the voice of the people, nor do they represent anyone other than dark-money, and more importantly, these entities within the 1% gang aren’t interested in anything but making more money. Know your enemy. I have linked the following thread in the pictures, it’s very much worth your time looking into and staying on top of this one:
Again, and as always there are so many more layers to both stories here but I hope they give you a kickstart on your Monday morning. Most important to remember is that none of us are helpless against any and all of this corruption. It is vitally important to know that we have strength in numbers, that awareness of this corruption and the resulting clarity can be harnessed into genuine unity across the board and borders. It is nigh on time we take the power back.
