Overload
As some of you might know, I am on a wee break until Friday and I am purposely staying away from my phone / news but even trying to catch up on what interests me in a question of an hour is overwhelming. From the US election, to the second wave of Covid in Europe, the wars in Central Asia, the protests across South East Asia, the total lack of news reaching Europe out of Central and South America, which always freaks me out, getting next to no news as per usual from the African Continent, not even getting into the macro interests on local levels it can certainly feel overwhelming. At some point soon we are going to have to address this commodified 24/7 infotainment/propaganda presentation charading as actual news, and they are not, let’s face it. At this point I am tempted to impose a more rigid personal schedule for the consumption of information and aim at an increase of introspection and action but with the pandemic ramping up another wave that in itself is going to be another challenge, let alone making a living, but I’ll get to that when I actually have to, i.e. when I get back home after this break. Enjoy the selection of today’s fuckening from the world’s corrupt, disdainful leaders of the free world.
Just to continue on yesterday’s mention of Reagan, tempted to do one on Mitterand and Kohl these next days but they won’t be as pretty as these two.
Oh, I did NAZI that coming. Seriously, Popular Info has done a number of in-depth reports on Facebook’s Blind Eye towards right wing radicalism, with Mr. Robot aka Zuckerberg only last week publicly saying that Holocaust Denialism should be banned on FB because, you know…
Accidental my ass. It’s the same bullshit celebrating people who stood in line for anything longer than an hour to vote. That is not normal and far from it, celebrating peoples willingness to do so isn’t worthy celebrating, the system of voting has been systematically destroyed and that should be the top story.
Of course, I do have to go into yet another super bizarre Senate Hearing, again, for another seat on the US Supreme Court. I thought the hearing for Kavanaugh was weird but this one, oh my. Again, this is probably more of a cultural issue for me but still, that Judge is scary and the Senate either willful or flat out stupid.
With that, I’ll leave you with two closing ideas for today.
