To Redefine Politics and the Political

Morning Comrades.

Now that the US election is in full swing, and late at that if I may add, all of us are going to be inundated with aggressive privilege. It happens on here occasionally even, when, I am assuming in good faith, people are overwhelmed with what is on the horizon. Once again, my criticism is not of one party, or several if you are reading this form Europe, against or in favour of another, but the entirety.

Far be it for me to tell you not to vote but let’s spell it out clearly: voting on its own the smallest part of anything and everything political. To be even clearer, life is political, and politics is life - I cannot remember how many pieces of art I made over the last 20 years that dealt with that reality in on itself. Now, I fully undrstand the frustration and feeling of being overwhelmed, especially if you are in the US - it is important to remember that irrespective of party, one is dealing with the most powerful of all propaganda machines this world has seen in history as well as the US being the most extreme ( so far ) of what capitalism has in stock for us. I’ve spent enough time there to have gotten a real sickening taste of it and get if you are comatosed to it all - precisely what they want you to feel.

For those that wonder what to do then, and this applies to us all not just our comrades in the US, start with the understanding that everything we do is political. From there one can focus ones energies and capacities to what is doable - each according to their ability and all that - and actually make some tangible changes. Personally, I believe and focus my energies on the understanding that we will need care infrastructure like we haven’t seen it in the past and soon - from communication networks that are not out in the open and digital, to mutual aid funds, escape and safety plans for those of us most at risk at the fascist elements on display and more. Again, that is a personal choice but do understand that everything is political.

With that, let’s get into a little talk about direct action, infrastructure, politics and more to help you dismantle the anxiety around the irrelevant act of voting, debating in and around a faux binary created to keep you from changing what needs to be changed. The party binary is bullshit. They mean nothing and it is time to leave all that behind.
