International Dispatches
Iran, Labour Files, Ten New Theses, UN General Assembly, the CIA & Online Psyops and Italy's Fascists.
Afternoon Comrades.
I realize that the scheduling of this weeks emails has been a little erratic, mostly due to real-life work commitments but also, partly because it’s been a week of unusual occurrences that demand attention and time. The award of immediacy given by social media has created an even shallower understanding of what is going on in the world than that of the 24hr “news” cycles by your usual mainstream press outlets.
Rather than producing another art focussed dispatch today, those are resuming, count on it, I wanted to share what has is on my mind and that I am mostly still chewing over. Take your time with these stories below if they interest you.
Before I get started though, a few words on the latest series of protests in Iran. With any and all such events, we, as the BL community, always stand with the oppressed and the guiding line here is to listen, learn and ask those on the street what, if any help we can offer. In this case, it is Kurdish women who leading the charge against the fanatical regime in Iran 1 2 Any and all calls for the “West” to intervene is absolut bullshit and needs to be dropped immediately. Anyone paying attention even just these last 6 months will have noticed how ineffectual “westerns” sanctions are at regime changes and those only truly ever hurt the working classes, and in the case of Iran those have suffered more than enough at our capitalists hands. Listen to the Kurdish voices, and if you feel obliged to help, ask before starting some self glorifying social media crusade. As always, information warfare is an absolute key here and with most if not all access to the internet being blocked, you can act as an proxy, entirely free of charge, with Signal. As usual, none of these stories, essays and dispatch require my comment, however, for some I’ll say a few words. Again, take your time with these, bookmark them for the weekend or for whenever you have free time.
If you are not from the UK this may seem a little irrelevant to you but bear with me, at the core this bombshell story from Al-Jazeera in regards to the Labour Party the UK tells the same story of electoral party politic throughout the West. Genuinely, it does not matter who you vote as the government stays in power and governments exist solely to protect the wealth of the capitalists and give a sense of legality to their inhumane praxis’s of attaining and growing said wealth. Specifically, the current Labour Party under Keith Starmer is rotten at the core and in a very similar way, mirrors the hypocrisy of the Democratic Party in the US. If you watch anything today, make sure this is it. It’s maddening, especially, if you are in the UK and if you are not, just apply to this to any party in your country. Democracy never existed, we just switched labels from Kings/Queens and continued a life of exploitation and servitude. Time to change that.
Secondly, and most definitely take your time with this one as well, but make this a priority to read, debate and share. I wrote about this in the patreon-only dispatch yesterday but this is too important to not share. Essentially, these are ten new theses on Marxism and Decolonization put together from a wide array of activists and intellectuals from the Global South. An absolute must-read:
As I am sure most of you have noticed, the UN is currently in session and whilst anyone has to ignore the hypocrisy jammering out of the Western Leaders mouths, listening in to the speeches by leaders from the Global South is becoming increasingly fascinating. For the last few decades, especially in Latin America, these statements, these mission statements have usually echoed the imperialistic fascism coming out of NATO, but that’s changing - just another brick falling out of the wall of unipolarity and it’s so worthwhile to listen to these speeches. Here is the newly elected President of Colombia ripping the US a new one. Click on the picture for the whole speech.
The CIA “celebrated” their 75th anniversary the other day, grotesque as that may seem to the rest of the world and whilst I would love to rant about their clownish evil, let’s hear it from none other than Edward Snowden:
Speaking of more “clandestine” fuckery:
Lastly, for today anyway, it genuinely looks as if the extreme far-right party of all things fascist will win Italy’s next general election. To understand who is who, what is what read the below:
Other than that, here is the link to this weeks tunes for you and I wish you a restful, revolutionary weekend comrades. Thank you for your time, attention and interest.
Yours,
V.
Let’s never forget who put these fanatics in charge of Iran. The US / UK and their respective services. Another shining example of their absolute failure other than propping up fanatical regimes in an attempt to steal natural resources. Read This.
