Morning Comrades.
Our understanding of freedom is utterly out of whack. If you want to get academic about it we can trace this manufactured misleading of the idea back to the 17th & 18th Century and the liberal / bourgeoise philosophy that supported and was financed by the middle class revolutions that overthrew the European feudalistic realities that essentially replaced not much more than the oppressors of the working classes. And that is important to understand the modern-ish context from which we are positing our ideas and subsequent material realties when it comes to Freedom.
Freedom is important and the liberatory quest for it demands a better understanding of it all. You all know the bullshit we have been indoctrinated with here in the west since childhood. It’s all bullshit, inherently we know and yet not only are we confronted on the daily with those still defending this, but the material reality that was created by this idea, an idea that was only born to support exploitation and moralize the inherent violence in this idea.
With that, let’s a line from the linguistic roots of the word, the bourgeoise revolutions that de-constructed the actual reality of freedom to Marx and his work on the subject of Freedom.
