Morning Comrades.
Amazingly I am signing off for two weeks after this dispatch, with the help of my comrade who so clearly saw a need for a break more than I did. Off to Albania we are this Sunday and this program will return, refreshed on October 2nd. Obviously, I am not going to leave without giving you something in return for your support in interest of this project. Actually, this a good moment to all you new readers how this substack is set up. There’s ( usually ) 3 dispatches a week, one for all and then two additional ones for those that are able to support this with a 5USD a month ( less when booked annually ) subscription - 2 of those dollars go to substack and the rest helps me thicken out the industry normal but insane low wages a chef gets. You can do so below if you can for free for 14 days.
Right, two / three pieces I wanted to share with you all before I piss off for a bit. First, a new playlist! I know, I wish I had the time to do these weekly again but I do not but after the feedback everyone gave for the Dirty Black Summer Playlist here is a brand new one for the Fall of Capitalism. Click on the image below to get taken directly to spotify for it. As always, it is a wild mix of tunes to floated my boat these past few weeks, old and new, irrespective of genre.
Secondly, this recent piece by Chris Hedges here on Substack on the defence of philosophy / learning for the purpose of dismantling power really struck a chord, whilst not agreeing with it all, it’s wonderful food for thought from a personally respected writer:
Lastly, and this is a special thank you for the patreons of this newsletter, finally, some new art - below are two new prints for you to download and get printed locally. They are set up in A4 but if you want these bigger / smaller, just let me know and I will get that sorted for you.
For the time being, thank you as always for your interest & support in dismantling the shackles that hold us down.
Share this newsletter if you can, the more the merrier and I will hopefully see you all back here in 2 weeks.
Yours, tired and hopeful as always,
Steven
