Morning Comrades.
As some of you know I work as a chef and today I will talk about food, alas potentially not in the many relevant and important ways one could suspect. As fun as it would be to talk all day about recipes and the joy of cooking, both privately and professionally one realistically should focus on the absolute shit show that is modern day food production from farming to table, the disastrous to life threatening reality that capitalism has wrought on food once the greedy bastards understood food as a commodity and weapon, as well as the inhumane realities around the world within “food”, again from production to service but alas today is a little different. Furthermore, as important as it would be to talk about the 70 year old / deep history of “food as a human right”, in terms of legal history and its impact we won’t, for one, legality is a construct of the ruling class enforced by violence and more importantly, let’s talk about what is possible (mostly) outside of their insane need for control.
As so often, this train of thought is brought to you by one of the many community dinners with comrades, sparked by a simple comment of their reality and as so often, the simplest of ideas / points lay bare the the insanity of our pre-managed existence as well as the simplicity in potentially solving the above, partly at least.
All of this ties into the main component of revolution, organizing and thus, community strength, solidarity, transparency and power. Food, is at the very least, if not the main component that can, has and will provide the basis to building what is necessary to oust the bastards. As so often, the Black Panthers in the U.S. showed how its done, and thus we will start, briefly with them and then explore the potentials for us, today, going forward. And no, this is not a history lesson but a how to and a call for some damn action.
