Afternoon Comrades.
I try and keep current events out of these dispatches as much as I can for a number of reasons but obviously, like most of you I’d imagine, try and keep up to date with what is happening, to try and figure out how and if the doings of the ruling class’ will affect us. The main reason I avoid writing about current political events is that the majority of sources available are anything but sources, what the self-described news outputs have proven themselves to be over the last few decades are profit orientated pr channels for the ruling class, at best, and at worst, ideologically driven fear mongering fascist bootlickers, and thus, trying to figure out what is what has been become increasingly impossible, by design, for decades.
The designed destruction of reality, something that is created by both material realities as well as a common acknowledgment of facts - the earth is round, the pandemic is ongoing, the police no matter where is the violent enforcer of property owners, a class war is the basis of our relations and so on- is the basis of their division and destruction of what they fear most, a unified working class that understands their relations and acts accordingly. More on that later this week.
Nevertheless, two pieces of “news” made it to the forefront of my mind this morning that we have to acknowledge, because, yeah. WTF. For context, I used the word news sarcastically, because “news” aren’t commodities to be processed, valued and sold, but actions and reactions deeply rooted in reality, irrespective of what reality you are coerced into.
To be clear, our immediate to-long term future in the west is and will be determined by our ruling classes relationships to both Russia and China. The nonsensical con of Trumpism around the West based around a juvenile understanding of mercantilism, white supremacy, trade wars and “country x” first is exactly that, a con to fleece their respective working classes and is utterly removed from the 21st Century reality. The interdependence of everyone on this planet is not only a base of truth but will only become clearer as time progresses. This is where we start from today.
Xi Jinping, president of China and Biden held a meeting a few days ago during which Xi Jinping, in an unusual clear language told Biden to stop his warmongering on every level. Unusual in the sense that this had not happened before with this clarity. Of course, there was little to no coverage of this here in the West, and what coverage existed was based on the western delusion of supremacy it missed the points being made. If this is of interest to you I urge you to read the below to see what I am getting at:
The people that actually run the Western Empire aren’t stupid, per se, and fully understand that China’s reality determines the survival of their status quo. Equally, their decision making process is so seeped in their belief of supremacy that every action is based on domination and thus conflict rather than cooperation. As bewildering as that is. The fact remains that the Western ruling class, in their crusade of global capitalist domination sees no other way than conflict in their preservation, and China, so far, has decided to try a different path. Nevertheless, with the ramping up of anti-China rhetoric, trade wars and the possibility of an actual conflict, the Chinese government has for the first chose to draw a number of red lines and communicated these quite clearly. Importantly to remember, in no conflict scenario does the West have even the slightest advantage and yet their course remains. That’s point one, the second point today is this:
If you are wondering why I am using the FT of all sources to use here, and to be sure, it is a rag paper of hardcore capitalists, it is the simple fact that everything the west does is based on profit and financial papers such as the FT inform those people that make financial decisions and thus their reporting is closest to reality, especially in comparison to ideological driven white middle class supremacy shit rags like the NYT or CNN. For starters, it is noteworthy to state the fact that the capitalist superstructure figured Biden to be mentally incapable of being their puppet but still capable enough to push a nuclear power over the edge. To be even clearer, this is crossing a red line put down by Russia a long time ago, reiterated in response to this decision and one that clearly states that this to them means a direct NATO involvement on Russian territory - irrespective of what anyone may think on the past two years, this is their reality and they will act, and we cannot. Again, outside of my own thoughts on the matter, this a reality and we have to understand them as such and they worry me deeply.
It is obvious, that these occurrences do not exist in a vacuum, nothing does and everything is connected, as difficult a concept this appears to be for our western ruling class. Both of these pieces of information exist within the broader spectrum of the ongoing genocide in Palestine, the formation of BRICS and the subsequent de-dollarisation of the US Empire, the subsequent return home of colonisation to the West and more. What we are witnessing are actions that signal a change of realities, some call it the end of the US led Western Empire and I would argue for that case and as important for peace that may well be, these events are hard to predict, rarely peaceful and will have extreme effects on us workers, here in the West.
This being the point I am getting at: I don’t want any of this insanity and violence to happen. On the contrary. Their never-ending wars of domination and theft are the starting point of all resistance to their reality. Most of us have been so deeply conditioned to the constant reality of war, akin to the frog in boiling water, that peace and peaceful, sustainable existence appears to be such a radical concept that it defies possibility, and it is not. The fact that we are being led, manipulated, coerced through force by a radical minority into these constant and ever increasing threats to the planets existence is radical. Not the other way around. When you take a step back and examine the demands I and many others demand you realise how un-radical they truly are, peace, sustainability and progression for the betterment of all, is the jump off point of mediocrity. The above examples and the entirety of the radical sect of capitalism is the extremity and this always begs the question, or several questions, of how? How can we put a stop to this utterly destructive minority and their logically consequential path of destruction?
Granted, the last 5 years of this substack have been devoted to this or rather these questions but I’ll reaffirm this: it starts with understanding of “class”, class relations and class consciousness. This is not something that happens miraculously over night but takes work and is not something done in isolation. My own journey has been long, certainly not with mistakes and will continue until my time here is done. The point then is to help, teach, offer solutions to my own mistakes and those from the past. It is a science that applies to us from which we can stop this extremist minority rule. A start, and everyone starts at a different point. There is and cannot be any hierachial positioning in this process and beware of those that enforce it - most clearly pointing the finger at a number of social media meme hucks that monetize certain zeitgeists for their own power. Each one teach one because we are well out of time to allow this minority to keep exploiting us, and by us I mean all of us workers around the world, for their violent destruction of everything.
Stay tuned.
For the time being, thank you for your time and attention,
yours, warmly,
V.
What an excellent piece - uplifting, motivating, if even in the face of current realities. Thanks once again!
Thank you for making this available. Where do you recommend we start?
