Morning Comrades.

To say that the following is a finished, let alone thorough thought would be wrong, yet, it feels necessary to put out there, for if anything, to sort my own thoughts out on this issue, for the time being in any case.

Capitalism, as it rest on the concept and material reality has for as long as it has existed relied on the idea of the “other” to muster resources, human, in this case, to defend and expand said property. You put up a fence around a plot of plant to raise crops, and someone, somewhere, you believe exists that is planning on taking it away from you. A story as hold as we can tell it.

This, early, very rudimentary idea, fear, concept, whichever way you want to call it, has been understood and then utilized as a tool for control, mobilization, conquest and all the wrongs we can think of since. Nevertheless, it was the coming together of European Feudalism, the Catholic and subsequently Protestant Church that created, through land reforms, its own Bourgeoise Revolutions, the moralization of “othering” through Philosophy and the birth of Capitalism, the modern monstrosity of weaponized racism, whose results we are currently witnessing in our seemingly Orwellian reaction towards yet another European made Genocide, this time in Gaza.

You can, in the short term, logically, lay the blame for a vast majority of the Western’s World lack of empathy at the feet of modern propaganda aka Legacy Media, Social Media and what have you, but even by looking at our generations reality, it becomes clear that there is something entirely rotten in the state of Denmark.

One of the core principles of Capitalism is that it relies on this reality. The manufactured understanding of the “other” in order to protect what is, perceived as “ours” - when the obvious reality is that there are only working people, irrespective of borders, skin colour, religion and what have you, and capitalists, the ruling class. There is a reason why the early Communist Movement was feared as much as it was, then, and continues to be fought on every level since then, as it, in its core, lays bare that very reality. Capitalism and its supporting class the Bourgeoise, demands a Boogeyman, to divide, conquer, unite when needed and kill its working class to divert attention from its crimes.

When I was a child, I saw the end of the original boogeyman, the Bolsheviks, The Russians, the Soviets and the Communists especially, and then, in a neo-liberal wet-dream, that disappeared. The End of History, as it was proclaimed, and for a very short but interesting time, the West had no Boogeyman to justify its ever increasing war machine. As we know though, power abhors a vacuum and before you could sing “give peace a chance”, an impossibility under Capitalism, 9/11 happened.

With it, the instant and most violent creation of a new Boogey Man, a new fear, a terror to unite the free Western World behind and justify taking off the masks of their self-proclaimed liberal democracies and install nothing but terror, austerity and oppression throughout the world.

Islam.
