Afternoon Comrades.
As much as physically removing fascists, racists and other boneheads from our neighbourhoods is extremely valuable anti-fascist work - and yes, it works - so is calling out the ruling classes bullshit in this regard. And no, the uptick in fascist rhetoric, especially in the English -speaking part of the so called civilized world hasn’t diminished with the absence of Orange Man in the White House, cough cough, surprise surprise. For a change, however, we are going to specifically look at the little island in the North Sea I call home but to be sure, this rhetoric in the face of capitalism’s failure ( or success, depending on your POV ) is the same across Europe, and much of the NATO west.
To give context, over the last few weeks a growing unrest amongst the young in England has unloaded onto the streets, as it so often does - “And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. - Martin Luther King Jr.” - and with a dead certainty the ruling classes feign outrage when someone else other than theirselves goes about and loots and riots. Again, to be sure, this is the same across the continent and not singular to England. Nor is their response nor proposed solution to this growing “civil unrest” and we are here to not only rip them a new one but call this out for what it is, fascist dog shit.
Again, to offer context, from 1931 to 1960, similar to other European countries, Britain had a system called the “National Service” a conscription system. The national Service was a standardised form of peacetime conscription. In 1947, it was announced that all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 30 were to be called up. This was quickly changed to all 17 to 21 year-olds. The conscripts initially served for 18 months. There is a heaps of literature on why this system not only failed but in fact harmed the actual Military Services but that’s a different story.
The point is this, whenever, and this has happened before in History, capitalism naturally produces inequalities that lead to poverty and general insecurities, the working classes, those that suffer the most from the natural state of capitalism, will fucking riot. Logically, one would think that the ruling classes would provide the necessary basics such as housing, healthcare and food security to release this tension, as, naturally, we are the ones providing the entirety of their wealth, but the contrary is the case. This is why, the class analysis we can wholeheartedly state that without the iron fist of coercion, fascism at its core, capitalism cannot exist. The only response the ruling classes have had to these riots throughout history and today is to call for punitive obedience. Military Service. Obedience through suffering. Speaking as someone who has had the misfortune to deal with this system due to extreme poverty there is an obvious bias against this, for clarity, but even if that was not the case, the argument stands: Capitalists will always employ violence against its workers before, if at all, addressing their needs, in this case, curbing “unruly” behaviour with punitive violence, and that is fascism.
Forcing people to serve will not make them “better” people, nor will they adhere inherently to their order of reality. Sickeningly, these bastards know this and are willingly turning us into cannon fodder, again, a story as old History in itself.
It is important to point this bullshit out because this rhetoric repeatedly raises its ugly head, even in my lifetime. Forcing anyone to serve anything, especially a bullshit concept like “nationality” does not bring out order and harmony- on the contrary. What, for starters, would help is guaranteed housing, free healthcare and food security, the core basics of a progressive “society” if you will, and again, this is just for starters. Obviously, equity, education and the logical, subsequent road via socialism towards communism is where it is at but for once, lets remain in the here and now, since none of the above core pillars exist, when the material prerequisites do - they are now simply being hoarded and the fruits of labour not being shared fairly.
Once again, it is time, or way past time to be clear, to say, No More. Their bullshit is up, needs to be called out and actively worked against. It needs to be clear that at this stage they, the capitalists and their goons, that they should thank their lucky stars that we want whats ours and not revenge, yet.
I have to get back to house work and such but as always, thank you for your time, interest and support.
Yours, ragingly,
V.
