By now most of you have at the very least heard about Seymour Hersh’s article here on Substack directly laying responsibility for the destruction of the Nordstream 1 & 2 pipelines at the feet of the US Government. Most of you will remember that shortly after Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine, these two pipelines were sabotaged to cut off all natural gas heading into Europe. Despite the obvious logical fallacies, guilt here via the Western Media was immediately put on to Russia and that was that. It only took a few days of some basic questions being left unanswered by anyone with half a brain that every tool was used to silence the discussion of this event on all media platforms. The subject hasn’t been in the public sphere since until two days ago when Hersh dropped his article.
A disclaimer, of sorts, I consider Hersh to be one of the most brilliant journalists of our lifetime. The fact that he has been on the US’ serious shit list for 40 some years tells you more than I ever could, but rest assured, he has rarely ever been wrong. Hersh first gained recognition in 1969 for exposing the My Lai Massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War, for which he received the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting. During the 1970s, Hersh covered the Watergate scandal for The New York Times and revealed the clandestine bombing of Cambodia. In 2004, he reported on the U.S. military's mistreatment of detainees at Abu Ghraib prison. He has also won two National Magazine Awards and five George Polk Awards. In 2004, he received the George Orwell Award. If you are so inclined, and I hope you are, feel free to read the piece here:
Now, I have no intention to write about the logic, purposes nor history of these pipelines, as much as I would like to dedicate my days ripping apart the US’ Government evil MiniMe aka the German Government. This also isn’t a piece to yell “gotcha” or “told ya so” - at this point in our communal experience, facts play little roles in convincing people about objective truths. This article, as important as it is, will not shift most peoples personal opinions on the matter, as sad as that is.
Importantly, this article, should you believe its claims after reading it, ultimately raises a few utterly important questions and truths that we need to be addressing.
