ACAB, Empires, Sovereignty and You
Morning Comrades! Welcome back to another week of remote writing and musings from the enchanted island of Crete, where I am enjoying a much needed break that is doing wonders for my mental health, even, or probably because, I am a walking form of baked feta and ice cold beers at this point. There are a number of things I will touch upon including a few notes on the police, in light of another case of ACAB, this time from London, a new playlist obviously and a couple of texts of what is not in the news but important to be aware of, in regards to what our evil empire is up to on our periphery.
First though, a few words on a week without using IG- the obvious mental health benefits are clear and staggering. No questions asked. Also, and this is in thanks to you, looking back at this last week this newsletter has not needed IG as a promotional platform from my end, which is on the one hand wonderful and equally freeing. The readership increased somewhat and did not decline. What a week on IG did show though is that the Black Lodges drop this past weekend didn’t do nearly “as good” as any of the previous ones did. Now, I am not laying that at the feet of IG, far from it, but I will look at that a little closer with another charity drop happening this coming weekend ( see above ahem ), that I will run on here as well as in our Telegram Group, in addition to IG. Just as a comparison.
In an ideal world I would prefer to not use IG etc at all but I believe we are a still not at a critical mass point for that. It’s an interesting topic to me only insofar that I haven’t had to think about “marketing” these platforms yet but am now, only so that we do not have to rely on using IG and thus paying those fascist fucks a cent with our community efforts and discussions. I do believe that you sharing the hell out of this newsletter, the telegram group and the drops really has a positive, constructive effect so once again, I am kindly asking you to put this forward to anyone you think would be interested in this community.
Also, as a thank you to you all for a year of support here, you can now click the below for a special 14 day access of everything that happens behind the uncomfortable paywall - which includes a special email per week, early bird links and so on.
New Week, New Playlist- yes, a little shorter than usual, but still a banging 2 hours and 15 minutes of whatever floated my boat this past week - and yes, all that grilled feta and beer, the sunshine, ocean and olive trees are having an effect. I am going to leave it at and will continue to share this trip throughout the week in our telegram group, but here you go. Enjoy it, Share It, Like It, you know the drill.
I was going to write a lengthy piece on the insanity that transpired back in London over the last few days in line of the life-long sentencing of the pig that killed Sarah Everard but I ended up deleting it. For anyone not in the clear, horrifically, a cop abducted and killed a woman in London, was sentenced to life in prison and the MET ( London Police ) then went on a PR trip advising anyone to run away from the cops if they felt threatened by them and, for example, waive down busses to help them. I will leave it at that, we all know how insane all that is and any discourse on the matter only repeats centuries of experience with the police anywhere for anyone that is not a white rich man. I don’t have anything new to add to the ACAB discourse hence the deletion of said piece. The fact remains, all cops are bastards, the institution of policing need to be abolished and reworked, with countless examples of how this can be done that I have written about aplenty here, but to be sure: it is only going to get worse. With our empires at total breaking point, the police as we know it only exists s( and has only ever done so ) to enforce the unethical will of the ruling class and to protect their assets. Once again, it is down to us, as a unified front to confront, stop and create alternatives to their brute force and that’s something I hope to write more about over this week.
“The danger to world peace springs not from the action of those who seek to end neo-colonialism but from the inaction of those who allow it to continue. … If world war is not to occur it must be prevented by positive action. This positive action is within the power of the peoples of those areas of the world which now suffer under neo-colonialism but it is only within their power if they act at once, with resolution and in unity.” - Kwame Nkrumah
Very often you will come across mentions of colonialism, neo-colonialism and so on in here and other publications and I wanted to point you to a brilliant piece of investigative work from a marxist perspective that I came across that actually paints a reality of what those words means, in this case, on the African Continent. Take your time with this one, but by all means read it, share it, talk about it and read it again.
Vijay Prashad, who reads this newsletter, a fact that humbles me to this day, is one the finest Historians, Marxists and De-Colonizing Activists that I know who recently published a piece that obviously didn’t and will not make any news here in the West but is so utterly vital to read in order to understand what our Empire is up to when it is not pushing it’s bullshit narrative through our “news” channels.
With that, and I know this is was more info on a Monday that I would usually share, here is your selection of hot shots for you to absorb and share. See you all again on Wednesday.
