Morning Comrades.
My head is swimming and no, I honestly don’t think that it is some sort of conspiracist fuckery on the ruling class’ behalf to confuse us into submission like a deer in a headlight. The continuing and ever increasing contradictions inherent in the development of existence under capitalism, even if one were to imagine for a second a reality in which we weren’t plugged into a global network of information, guarantee a sensory overload that can and does feel paralysing at best. That includes me. There are so many interconnected thoughts happening all at the same time that I couldn’t formulate a clear plan for today’s dispatch for the few hours this morning, but hey at least the majority of housework is done, right? I’ll try and cover the loudest voices in my head for the time being, seeing how they are all interwoven into the fabric of reality and have a direct affect on us.
For one, the fucking President of the US is being inaugurated today. I’m swearing out of sheer frustration here, having seen 8 prior Presidents of the Evil Empire being sworn in some pompous Disney ceremony with the only net effect being a steady and ever increasing pace towards not only the empire’s own destruction but immense suffering around the world due to their pledge to Capital and the ever increasing blatant use of Fascist Violence around the world and at home.
For a hot second there I thought about delaying today’s dispatch to watch the inauguration and then blast off, but what fucking for? Irrespective of who has been in charge over there, the fuckening remains and if anything it’s been progressively getting worse over the last 25 years. Yes, it is absolutely irrelevant who plays clown in charge in D.C. when even your most self-proclaimed “liberal” leader didn’t protect anyone’s imaginary rights of self autonomy, bombed innocent children to bits over a fake and fraudulent ideology let alone bothered to sort out clean drinking water for Flint, Michigan, as an example. I’ll get to the imaginary rights in a minute, so hold your rage replies. Still, there are thousands of writers doing just that, waiting, waiting to react to the guaranteed shit show today in D.C.- rather than doing the actual work of writers and that being sticking it to the man and forcing them into accountability, but don’t ever confuse that with the role of the MSM, their’s is a different role and so I gave up on waiting. Granted, I am absolutely not discounting the possibility of “something” happening during Trump’s swearing into Office, but reality is often far more mundane as that.
I was re-reading the dispatches from the end of the first Trump presidency on here and I’ll say this though: this run is going to be a lot more dangerous, in both short and long term, for any group outside of his team’s White Supremacist, Techno-Christian Fascist, and specifically Mob interpretation of the world. It is different. Even if only one were to consider the fact that he has bullied the Western World’s leading Capitalists around him. What I do find new-ish is the fact that this leading component of Western Capitalism, the US, for what I believe to be the first time, is not being entirely led by it’s capitalist class, but that both the political and capital class are aligned in some sort absurd interwoven death dance, where one leads the other. To simply state that Musk bought the Orange Goblin to do his bidding is to simplify the desperately necessary coexistence of those two. One, totally devoid of empathy and the other with a ruthless dedication of protecting his Mob Empire. The same applies to sociopaths like Fuckerberg and Bezos, not to even mention Bill Gates. There will be less open Tiki Torch Marches and a lot more state violence against everyone that stands in the way of their accumulation of capital and their immunity from the law. Said violence will be normalised, become the new jump off point for whatever administration comes after and unless we get our shit together pronto we’ll beg for whatever historised version of Fascism we can muster.
So no, I decided to not wait for that Clown Show to write. If something happens, that I missed, cool, feel free to point a finger at me, it wouldn’t be the first time and the field of proverbial reactionary fucks ran dry decades ago.
That brings me, very briefly, to the absurdity of TikTok going dark for all of 14 fucking hours in the US and what it really illustrates. There is absolutely no need to get into the colossal fuck up on behalf of the ruling class, that includes both imaginary opposing sides of US politics, but most importantly how easy it was for them to take away something so many people, for whatever reasons, deemed important to them. Not that access to social media is a “right” per se, and irrespective of what ones opinion on what happened on said platform, the fact remains that it represented a possibility of income to many people, a material fact to ease the suffering they caused and it was gone in a blink of an eye, and just as easily returned for political gain. Rights, whatever anyone thinks they are, only exist in our construct of a capitalist run reality through the show or at the very least, promise of violence against the ruling class. Your 2 day weekend, your holidays, your healthcare whatever it is, concessions from the ruling class that they certainly don’t want us to have all exist because at some point in our history we showed up at their houses and burnt them down. The fact that we have lulled ourselves into believing a dialogue could replace the above is on us. Rights only exist when we take them, they do not exist when they can take and give them for their perceived benefit.
Lastly, and in so many way, endlessly more important, is the reality of a possible ceasefire in Gaza, even if it is “just” a temporary one. Now, there are way too many voices reading all kinds into this reality, and far too many westerners clapping themselves on their back for their pathetic excuse of “activism” and regardless of my own thoughts, it has to be obvious from the press releases and images coming out of Gaza what relief this is for the remaining Palestinians. That has to be and should be only be the only aspect of this that matters. Again, it was and remains them who did this and all effort on our behalf should follow their demands and needs, nothing else. Yes, there is a mountain of work to be done here, in our homes and that should not for one second waver in its commitment nor intensity. I have seen uncountable “ceasefires” being broken by Israel and is horrific as it sounds, I am expecting this one to be broken as well. The only guidelines worth listening to are the ones from the Palestinian Liberation Movement themselves and they very clearly state that the ceasefire is a step towards liberation and that the real work begins anew.
“The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) emphasized its commitment to the ceasefire demands of the remainder of the Palestinian Resistance factions.
The Palestinian Resistance has been demanding a complete cessation of the aggression on Gaza, the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, a prisoner exchange deal, and the return of all displaced persons to their homes from which they were displaced. The PFLP underlined its commitment to the righteous demands of the Resistance.
"There is full and comprehensive coordination between all resistance factions," the PFLP said. "There is a consensus on the demands of the resistance."
No matter what our collective enemy does or doesn’t do, our work remains and if anything, it is only becoming clearer and more acutely important to do so going forward. Waiting for them to declare the playing field and rules in which we deem it right to act in has been the failure of all un/organized anti-capitalist movements in the West for the last 100 years.
We can do better.
Ragingly yours,
V.
Imagine actually believing central African pygmies are every bit as smart as Ashkenazi Jews or head-hunting tribes in Papua New Guinea are every bit as smart as Japanese people.
Lol.
