Morning Comrades!
Even though there is heaps to talk about politically we’re taking a little break, for today anyhow. Not only is it 9pm here on a Sunday and my mind is preoccupied but it’s also my birthday week. Yup, you read that right, I am taking the whole damn week to celebrate the fact that I have made it 43, something that wasn’t on my radar or anyone else’s to happen but here we are. There is a little chit chat after the drop, so if this isn’t why you are here, scroll down.
Rather than giving in to too much self-indulgence I have re-opened the online shop now to raise money for Doctors Without Borders. This entire drop will be donated to them and it will be available all week. If you click on the images below it will take you directly to the online store. If you have any questions by all means, drop me a line. If you are a paying subscriber to this newsletter, your usual Discount Code applies to everything below, if you forgot what it is, write me.
Before you get keyboard happy and want to send off birthday wishes, hold your horses, it’s on Tuesday! However, I wanted to offer a little insight to those of you that are interested. I am purposely and notoriously private but if you ever wanted to ask me a question about anything, here you go. Obviously, there are a few topics I' cannot go into - but you can even ask me why if you want to know - but generally speaking all is fair. I figured giving you readers insight, if wanted, into who is writing you all this time is more than fair. I’ll collect these questions and answer them in Wednesday’s email.
Send me an email, drop a line in the Telegram Channel but don’t DM on IG. That place is a mess and I try and ignore most of those DM’s in any case.
Yes, another week and another playlist and holy fire balls of jams, this one might just be the best one of the year, so far. Yes, I absolutely ignored my own rule of not throwing metal in here and generally speaking this week is truly much more about jams. There is heaps of new music in here as well, with new tracks/mixes from Depeche Mode, Fontaines D.C. and Brian Jonestown Massacre as well as a deep dive into some banging post-hardcore / punk, some unexpected D n’B, some heavy psych and several tracks from the German department of art-punk and more. This one slaps and slaps hard, I hope you’ll enjoy this one.
I am going to leave you for today with some hot shots that are truly preoccupying my brain this evening and yes, thank you for indulging me today with the above. Your usual program will return on Wednesday. Until then, I remain yours, without compromise,
V.
