Morning Comrades! Back to reality for me and I’ll see how long I can make the good vibes I picked up on Crete last here for the time being. A massive thank you to everyone that went out of their way to share this newsletter over the last couple of weeks where I stayed off IG for as long as I deemed it reasonable.
Over the last two weeks it has become incredibly clear, and this is relevant to anyone using IG for work, that it no longer serves me, and thus potentially you, in terms of reach. That’s the nice part of the story, the surprisingly bad part of not using IG for the past two weeks was that both drops “performed” - and I hate that word when it comes to Black Lodges, comparatively poor. That’s something to think about and I will experiment with some other options these next coming weeks. Regardless, a big thank you to everyone that helped getting the word out. It’s seen and appreciated. I will focus more on our Telegram Group so by all means sign up for that if you haven’t yet. Speaking of drops and I am sure you can guess by today’s opening art banner, I got something good happening this weekend.
Hot damn, this is a GOOD ONE! I know, I keep yapping on about these but do yourself a favour and get on this one. What happened last week, other than the obvious, is that not only heaps of new great music came out, from Chet Baker, to Fontaines D.C. and BADBADNOTGOOD but I also spent a good few days trying to delete over 3000 old songs I had saved on Spotify, and with that, I “re-discovered” tons of tracks I hadn’t thought about for years- so catch a lot of older, deep-cuts in this one. It has everything from dark deep house to dub, to blues, jazz, post-punk to goth to electro and more upbeat tech-house and so much more. It’s out there. Enjoy!
LeftWord Books is a New Delhi-based publishing house that seeks to reflect the views of the left in India and South Asia. They publish critical and analytical works on a range of subjects, and pay special attention to works on Marxist theory. They project the interests of the working people and movements for social transformation. Set up in 1999 these wonderful comrades are incredibly worth your time checking in and out - I can only repeat myself so often, but take my word on this one. The sheer pedigree of people at work here is easily reflected in the work they put out.
With that I am going to leave you with a selection of hot shots to share far and wide.
